Liverpool Secures Teenage Striker Djylian N'Guessan for 2027
Liverpool are trying to win the present and lock down the future at the same time – and the latest move sits firmly in the second category.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the club have agreed a deal to sign highly rated St Etienne striker Djylian N'Guessan, with the teenager scheduled to arrive at Anfield in the summer of 2027. The agreement is in place with both club and player, and N'Guessan has been given the green light to undergo a medical.
The fee remains under wraps, but the intent is loud enough.
A long game in a frantic window
Liverpool’s final days of the transfer window are already loaded with intrigue. A move for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola is understood to be agreed and now awaits official confirmation, underlining a push to sharpen the current forward line.
At the same time, the club’s recruitment team has been operating on a different timeline. Genk goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans has already been secured in a deal worth €35 million, with the young Belgian also set to arrive next summer rather than immediately.

Who is Djylian N'Guessan?
N'Guessan only recently turned 18, but his name has already started to circulate among scouts across Europe. A centre-forward by trade, he can also operate out wide, a versatility that fits neatly with Liverpool’s modern attacking blueprint.
He has made 13 senior appearances for St Etienne, several of them in the 2024–25 season, but his development has largely been managed through the club’s B team and under-19 side.
