Nike Unveils NBA Standard Issue Collection for 2026-27 Season

Nike is reshaping the NBA’s off-court uniform.

The brand has unveiled the NBA Standard Issue Collection, a leaguewide apparel line that will outfit players in the same looks for warmups, practices and team travel throughout the 2026-27 season. For once, what fans see on the tarmac, on the practice court and in the layup lines is exactly what they can buy.

A unified look, 30 different identities

Every NBA team is included in the rollout, with Charlotte Hornets pieces carrying Jordan Brand designs. Some team-and-style combinations will trail the initial drop, but the framework is clear: one cohesive visual language stretched across 30 distinct identities.

The design language leans hard into modern basketball culture. Spray paint-inspired graphics, oversized silhouettes, big logos and loud artwork give the range a clear streetwear edge. For those who don’t want to shout, there are quieter, more minimal options that still carry the team mark without screaming for attention.

This is not a one-off fashion capsule built in a vacuum. Nike built it off feedback from more than 400 elite high school players, 100 NBA athletes, all 30 franchises and fans worldwide. The result aims to sit in that space where performance gear and lifestyle clothing actually overlap, not just share a tag.

What’s in the first drop?

The opening lineup focuses on six men’s styles, with prices from $54.99 to $114.99 at Fanatics:

  • Icon Practice short-sleeve T-shirt – $54.99
  • Pregame Max 90 short-sleeve T-shirt – $59.99
  • Icon Practice Fleece Shorts – $94.99
  • Pregame Sleeveless Icon Tank – $94.99
  • Pregame Mesh Long Sleeve Performance T-shirt – $104.99
  • Icon Practice Fleece Pullover Hoodie – $114.99

These pieces are built with Nike’s performance toolkit: lightweight Aero-Fit construction, moisture-managing fabrics and Nike Standard Issue Stretch, which weaves Dri-FIT technology into warmer, more flexible garments. They’re meant to breathe when the work ramps up, but still feel like something you’d wear through an airport or around the city.

Details matter here. Custom hardware, braided drawcords, woven labels and premium finishing touches push the line beyond typical fan shop fare. This is the same tier of product players will rely on all season, not a watered-down replica.

“Basketball is more than a game — it’s a culture and a form of self-expression,” said Ross Klein, VP/Creative Director of Nike Basketball, in a recent release. “This collection celebrates the attitude, creativity and individuality of today’s hoopers, combining bold team identity and modern style so fans can show their connection to the game in their own way.”

Release dates and where to find it

The first wave of the Nike NBA Standard Issue Collection landed Monday, Sept. 15. A second release is locked in for Oct. 12 at Nike, Fanatics, the NBA Store, Foot Locker, Dick’s Sporting Goods and select other retailers.

Once the 2026-27 season tips, NBA players will start wearing the gear in real time — a rolling lookbook every night from October through spring.

Specter Edition: history on the hardwood

Nike isn’t stopping with travel fits and practice gear. After Standard Issue hits the league, the brand will roll out Specter Edition uniforms for eight of the NBA’s oldest franchises: the Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers and Sacramento Kings.

Those kits will pull from each club’s history, home city and fan culture, a nod to the ghosts that built the league and the fan bases that still carry it. Matching apparel will arrive alongside the uniforms later this fall.

The message is clear: from practice floor to prime-time tip, from airport tunnel to city streets, Nike wants every layer of the NBA’s visual identity to tell a story — and to be something fans can actually wear.
