Paris FC Pursue Jonathan David as Immobile Successor

Paris FC have set their sights on Juventus forward Jonathan David as they scramble to reshape their attack after the shock retirement of Ciro Immobile, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

David, 26, arrived in Turin from Lille OSC on a free transfer last summer, but the move never truly ignited. The Canada international struggled to impose himself under Luciano Spalletti, and the Juventus coach is now ready to move him on, with the forward effectively pushed towards the exit.

That has alerted Paris FC, who suddenly find themselves lighter in attack than planned. Willem Geubbels was sold earlier in the summer and replaced by Lassine Sinayoko, a move that initially looked like tidy, measured business. Then Immobile stunned the dressing room last month, informing teammates he would retire despite expectations he would play at least one more season.

Liam Rosenior now wants one more weapon in the final third, and David has emerged as a serious option for Les Parisiens. His profile is clear: a forward who can run behind, link play, and carry the burden of goals in a side that has just lost one of the most prolific strikers of his generation.

The path to a deal, though, is far from clear. Atletico Madrid are also in the frame, offering a different kind of project and a different stage. Their interest raises the stakes for Paris FC, who must convince David that a return to France – albeit with a very different club to Lille – is the right platform to relaunch a career that has stalled in Italy.
