Barcelona finally have the striker they thought had slipped away for good.

The “other big club” he mentioned was Manchester City. That was where the story veered away from Barcelona.

“I saw that City was really interested in me after speaking with Pep on the phone,” the Brazilian said. That call tilted the scales. Guardiola’s insistence, his project, his promise of development under his watch – it was enough to close the door on Barcelona and send the forward to the Etihad.
