Julian Alvarez Rejects Arsenal in Favor of Barcelona
Atletico Madrid have not just shut the door on Barcelona – they’ve slammed it, bolted it and issued a public notice for good measure.
The capital club released a firm statement making it clear they will not negotiate with Barcelona over the sale of Julian Alvarez. No talks, no opening, no compromise. For a player who has made no secret of his desire to leave the Metropolitano, it was a seismic twist in a transfer saga already thick with tension.
For a moment, that stance seemed to hand the initiative to Arsenal. The Premier League champions had moved smartly, positioning themselves as the alternative escape route: a stable project, a title-winning team, a league that flatters forwards with his profile. On paper, it made sense.
