NFL Fans Demand Lifetime Ban for Minkah Fitzpatrick After Hit on KC Concepcion

Fans Call for Minkah Fitzpatrick to Be Banned Over Hit on KC Concepcion

Cleveland Browns supporters have expressed outrage after a rough tackle by New York Jets safety Minkah Fitzpatrick during their Week 5 matchup. The incident involved the Browns' promising rookie wide receiver, KC Concepcion, who suffered a concussion following an aggressive hit.

The Browns dropped to a 3-2 record as the Jets secured a 17-12 victory at MetLife Stadium, ending Cleveland’s three-game winning streak. Concepcion, a 22-year-old Texas A&M product selected 24th overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, had shown strong potential with 144 yards from 17 catches before his early exit.

Harsh Hit Sparks Backlash

During the first quarter, after catching a pass from Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson, Concepcion was struck hard by Fitzpatrick, who was promptly penalized for unnecessary roughness. The hit left Concepcion momentarily unconscious and lying motionless on the field. Although he managed to stand and leave for the locker room, medical evaluation confirmed a concussion that sidelined him for the rest of the game.

This blow came shortly after Fitzpatrick was flagged for a facemask penalty that tore off Concepcion's helmet entirely. Fans and commentators reacted strongly to what they saw as dangerous and reckless play.

History of Controversial Hits Against Browns Players

Browns fans are familiar with Fitzpatrick’s tough approach, especially since he spent 2019 to 2024 with their AFC North rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers. One particularly damaging tackle by Fitzpatrick caused serious injury to former Browns running back Nick Chubb’s left knee, a wound that ultimately shortened Chubb’s career and led to his retirement at age 30.

Supporters Demand Action

The Cleveland fanbase has grown weary of Fitzpatrick's style, calling for severe consequences. Some voices on social media described him harshly:

  • "The only thing Minkah Fitzpatrick knows how to do is put dirty hits on Browns players and knock them out of the game. He’s a piece of filth and needs (to be) removed from the league," one user posted on X.
  • "I want Minkah Fitzpatrick out of the NFL. What a cheap piece of trash," another commented.
  • "Minkah Fitzpatrick IS DIRTY AND SHOULD BE EJECTED AND REMOVED FROM THE LEAGUE! He shows no remorse…second foul on a single drive is wild!"
  • Other fans echoed the sentiment, saying Fitzpatrick has "been a dirty player his whole career" and lamenting, "Different jersey, same Minkah Fitzpatrick."

Looking Ahead

Browns head coach Todd Monken will hope Concepcion recovers quickly enough to face divisional rival Baltimore Ravens in Week 6. The team will be eager to see their rookie back on the field after such a troubling injury.
