Premier League Midfielder Eyes Return to Real Madrid
Real Madrid Plans Midfield Reinforcement for 2027
Real Madrid is expected to target a new midfielder in 2027 after missing out on additions this summer. The club's struggle to maintain control in matches has become apparent under Jose Mourinho’s management, prompting the team to look for reinforcements.
Previous Targets Fell Through
The club attempted to sign Enzo Fernandez but was priced out, while Rodri ended up joining Barcelona instead. As a result, Real Madrid’s management is now considering fresh options, including familiar faces from their past squads.
Chema Andres Hopes to Return
One player on their radar is Chema Andres. After leaving Real Madrid in the summer of 2025 to join Stuttgart, he impressed during his year in Germany before moving to Brighton. He has made a strong start in the Premier League and recently shared with Diario AS that returning to the Bernabeu remains a dream, though it isn’t something he is chasing at the moment.
"Real Madrid? I hope to come back in the future, but I’m not thinking about it right now."
Challenges in Re-Signing Andres
If Real Madrid wants to bring Andres back, it won't be straightforward. They lost all influence over his transfer when he moved from Stuttgart to Brighton, meaning they’d have to meet the full asking price from the Premier League side. Brighton is known for demanding high fees for their key players, which could complicate any deal.
For now, Real Madrid is likely to keep monitoring Andres’s performances closely. Should he continue to excel at Brighton, it wouldn’t be surprising if he features on their wishlist for next summer’s transfer window.
