Ryan Ledson Receives Three-Match Ban and Fine

Huddersfield Town captain Ryan Ledson has been hit with a three-match ban and a £7,000 fine after admitting misconduct towards a match official.

The punishment follows incidents in the tunnel area at half-time and again after the final whistle of Town’s 2-2 draw with Sheffield Wednesday on 10 October. Ledson, who was not in the matchday squad that night, was found to have used abusive and/or insulting language towards the official.

He accepted the Football Association charge and the sanction that followed.

For Huddersfield, the timing could hardly be worse. The 29-year-old midfielder had only just returned to training after an elbow injury that has kept him out since 12 September. He had started six League One games this season, a central figure in the Terriers’ early campaign, before that setback.

Any hopes of easing him back into the side are now on hold. Ledson will be unavailable for upcoming fixtures against Wigan Athletic, Bradford City and Luton Town, stretching a frustrating spell on the sidelines into a disciplinary lay-off.

A captain waiting to return from injury now has to wait a little longer — and Huddersfield must navigate a crucial run of games without him.
