Gleison Bremer Talks Juventus' 3-0 Defeat and Spalletti's Role
Bremer Addresses Questions About Spalletti After Juventus' Loss to Lazio
Juventus defender Gleison Bremer shared his thoughts on manager Luciano Spalletti and the team's performance following a 3-0 defeat at home against Lazio in Serie A. The loss left many questioning the coach’s influence, but Bremer stressed that the players must take responsibility on the pitch.
Juventus Falters After Early Goal
The match at Allianz Stadium saw Juventus unable to respond after conceding in the 37th minute. Despite promising chances early on from Alajbegovic and Nick Woltemade, Lazio struck first through a header by Oliver Provstgaard, unsettling the hosts. In the second half, Gustav Isaksen and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru extended Lazio’s lead as Juventus' frustration grew, with suspended coach Spalletti forced to watch from the stands.
Bremer Calls for Player Accountability, Defends Spalletti
When asked if Spalletti’s methods require change, Bremer pointed out that it is ultimately down to the players to execute the game plan. “The coach gives indications, but we are the ones who need to put it into action on the field,” Bremer said. He added that the team played well before Lazio’s goal but scoring at their first chance caused a wave of frustration.
Frustration and Breakdown in Discipline
Bremer admitted that Lazio’s clinical finishing hurt Juventus' confidence and led to a loss of tactical control. “We have to analyse our mistakes and get back on track immediately because there’s no time for anything else,” he told Sky Sport Italia. He also noted his attempts to motivate teammates, acknowledging some players show more character than others when facing setbacks.
Juventus Focuses on Recovery Amid Serie A Struggles
With Juventus slipping down the Serie A table and trailing the top teams by eight points, the squad faces pressure to reflect and improve quickly. Spalletti and his coaching staff will review individual performances ahead of upcoming matches as the team aims to regain composure and consistency.
