Declan Rice to Sign New Arsenal Deal Matching Bukayo Saka’s Top Salary
Arsenal Set to Secure Declan Rice with New Long-Term Contract
Declan Rice is close to agreeing on a new contract with Arsenal that will put him alongside Bukayo Saka as the club’s highest-paid players. This deal reflects Rice’s growing importance to the team since joining from West Ham in 2023.
Rice Establishes Himself as Arsenal’s Midfield Anchor
Since moving to North London for £105 million, Rice has become vital in Mikel Arteta’s midfield. With 165 appearances across all competitions, he has scored 21 goals and assisted 33 times, showing his influence on both ends of the pitch. His current contract runs until the end of next season, but talks to extend it have progressed rapidly.
New Contract to Boost Rice’s Weekly Wage
The proposed extension includes a pay raise from approximately £240,000 per week to around £350,000 per week. This increase would bring Rice’s salary level equal with that of Bukayo Saka, currently Arsenal’s highest earner. The move highlights how crucial Rice has become to the squad’s tactical setup and leadership.
Rice’s role was key in Arsenal winning their first Premier League title since 2004 last season and reaching the Champions League final, narrowly losing to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties.
Arteta’s Contract and Arsenal’s Strong Start
This contract news comes soon after Mikel Arteta committed to Arsenal by signing a new four-year deal. Arteta’s continued leadership has been central to the team’s recent success.
At the start of the new campaign, Rice has appeared in seven games across all competitions, contributing two assists, both in the Premier League.
