Endrick of Real Madrid Downplays Football Pressure, Highlights Hardships of Ordinary Workers
Real Madrid Forward Endrick Questions Claims About Football Pressure
Endrick, the Brazilian forward for Real Madrid, has minimized the pressure often associated with professional football. He compared the lifestyle of footballers to the struggles faced by everyday workers, suggesting the challenges in football are not as severe.
Brazilian Star Offers a Grounded Viewpoint
While on international duty with Brazil's Selecao, the former Palmeiras player acknowledged that football matches can be tense but dismissed the notion that playing at an elite level is a difficult life. He emphasized the massive earnings of top players, which can dramatically improve their families’ lives, contrasting that with the exhausting routine of regular laborers.
Madrid Striker Rejects Idea of Footballer Hardship
Speaking to TV Globo, Endrick stressed the need to appreciate what football provides. He said, "We face enormous pressure, but we have to be grateful for what football provides us. Of course there are high-pressure moments, but football gives us wonderful things that can change our families’ lives."
He continued to dismiss complaints about the sport’s pressure, stating, "It isn’t hard being a footballer. Yes, certain things that happen are difficult, but we cannot claim that being a player is hard. What’s hard is being someone who wakes up at 5am to go to work, laboring Monday to Sunday."
Gratitude for Privileged Life Stressed
The young striker showed remarkable maturity by urging fellow professionals to appreciate the perks of modern football instead of focusing on its demands. He concluded, "We are inside football, doing what we love most and earning money that can change our family’s life. We just have to thank God for this moment."
Upcoming Matches and Playing Time
After starting in the 1-1 draw against Australia in Townsville, Endrick might come off the bench for Brazil’s second friendly in Brisbane on Tuesday. Coach Carlo Ancelotti appears set to rotate his squad before Brazil concludes their tour against India. Following the international break, the teenager will return to Spain aiming for more minutes at Real Madrid, having played only four minutes so far this season.
