Endrick Considers January Move Amid Limited Playing Time at Real Madrid
Endrick arrived at Real Madrid to noise, expectation and headlines. What he has not had is playing time.
According to AS, the 20-year-old Brazilian forward is no longer closing the door on a January move, with the prospect of a winter loan increasingly on the table as he struggles to carve out a place in a crowded attacking unit.
A stalled start
His season never really got going. An injury in pre-season wiped out his chance to build rhythm and stake an early claim. By the time he returned, the competition around him had already hardened.
The numbers tell the story: 107 minutes, spread across just four appearances in all competitions. For a player of his age and profile, that is not a platform. It is a warning sign.
Endrick wants what every ambitious young striker wants – minutes, responsibility, a role that goes beyond late cameos. He recognises that breaking into this Real Madrid side, packed with established names and expensive signings, will not be straightforward. A January departure, on loan, is now viewed as a realistic scenario.
Yet he has not made up his mind. Not yet.
Mourinho stands firm
One major obstacle stands between Endrick and the exit door: José Mourinho.
The Real Madrid manager has been emphatic in public about how he sees the Brazilian. Earlier this month, he laid out his stance in no uncertain terms.
"Endrick is a player I absolutely adore, a player I believe has huge potential and who is very important to us," Mourinho said. "Anyone interested in him will have to fight me hard, because I believe he does not need to go out on loan and that he'll have massive success here."
Those are not the words of a coach preparing to sign off on a mid-season loan. They are the words of a manager who sees a long-term project and is prepared to resist outside pressure to accelerate it elsewhere.
Endrick, for his part, wants to see whether those words translate into minutes. He intends to exhaust every possibility of earning a bigger role before he takes any decision on his future.
Serie A giants circle
The interest is real and it is serious. AS Roma remain among the most attentive suitors. The Serie A club pushed hard for Endrick in the summer and came close to landing him, only for the deal to collapse once Mourinho intervened to keep him in Madrid.
Roma have not gone away.
AC Milan have now joined the chase, targeting a loan move in the winter window. For both Italian clubs, the calculation is obvious: a 20-year-old Brazilian with Real Madrid pedigree, hungry for minutes and available on a temporary deal, represents a rare opportunity.
There will be no shortage of offers if Madrid open the door.
Ten games that could decide everything
The immediate future is clear. The next block of fixtures, running through November and December, will shape Endrick’s decision more than any phone call or negotiation.
Real Madrid have seven La Liga matches in that spell, against Racing Santander, Valencia, Celta Vigo, Alaves, Athletic Club, Osasuna and Deportivo de A Coruna. On top of that, three Champions League group games loom against AEK Athens, PSV Eindhoven and Arsenal.
Ten games. Ten chances for Mourinho to back his words with selection. Ten chances for Endrick to prove he belongs in this squad now, not in some distant future.
If he remains on the fringes, the logic of a loan will be hard to ignore. If he starts to feature regularly, the equation changes.
For a 20-year-old striker caught between promise and impatience, the next two months will not just define his season. They may decide whether his Real Madrid story pauses in January or continues, under Mourinho’s protection, at the heart of the Bernabéu.
