Jon Jones Shares Prediction for Ciryl Gane vs. Josh Hokit at UFC 334

Jones Looks Ahead to UFC 334 Heavyweight Clash

Jon Jones, UFC legend, offered his take on the heavyweight title fight coming up at UFC 334, where champion Ciryl Gane will face off against challenger Josh Hokit. The event is scheduled for November 14 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Gane recently became the undisputed UFC heavyweight champion after Tom Aspinall vacated the belt due to an eye injury. His opponent, Hokit, remains undefeated and is a former NFL player. Interestingly, Hokit trains alongside Jones at the Jackson Wink MMA Academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Jones’ Thoughts on Gane vs. Hokit

During an interview with The Schmo, Jones commented on the matchup. He praised Hokit’s current form and coaching staff while expressing his support for wrestlers in the sport.

"Josh looks great right now. He’s doing a great job, obviously coached by some of the best in the world. I’ve always backed wrestlers. It’s interesting because I have Gable [Steveson], and there’s some back-and-forth talk. It’s awkward, but deep down, behind Gable, I’m supporting all the guys," Jones said.

Jones also emphasized his wish for all fighters to succeed beyond the cage, adding that every victory by Gane highlights the strength of their team.

"I want to see everyone live healthy lives and do well in business and family, so I’m rooting for everybody. I’d be lying if I didn’t say that the more people Ciryl beats, it really shows the specialness of our family and team. My prediction? I believe Hokit could win, but I’d also say when Ciryl wins, it makes our brand look strong. May the best man win."

Jones Comments on Upcoming UFC 335 Main Event

Jones briefly shared his views on the heavyweight showdown at UFC 335, featuring former two-division champion Alex Pereira and knockout specialist Sergei Pavlovich. Despite not making a prediction, Jones acknowledged the unpredictability of the fight.

"The Alex that showed up last fight seemed hesitant, maybe second-guessing himself, so I don’t really know. I thought Pereira would challenge Ciryl more, so it’s hard to say how Sergei vs. Alex will shake out. But I’ll be watching, and again, may the best man win," he remarked.

UFC 335 is set for December 12 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The card’s headline bout is a five-round UFC BMF title fight between champion Charles Oliveira and fan favorite Diego Lopes.

Looking Ahead in the UFC Heavyweight Division

The winner of the Pereira vs. Pavlovich fight could face the victor of Gane vs. Hokit sometime in 2027. The heavyweight division is gaining momentum after being stalled for a year due to Aspinall’s injury. If cleared, Aspinall might get a chance to reclaim the title next year.
