Jordan Ayew Set to Make Sheffield United Debut Against Wolves

Jordan Ayew is poised to pull on a Sheffield United shirt for the first time on Sunday, with Chris Wilder ready to throw his new signing straight into the Premier League fight against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Ghana international only walked through the door on Tuesday as a free agent. By that evening he was already on the bench against Blackburn Rovers, a clear sign of how urgently Wilder wants his experience and reliability in a squad stretched to its limits.

“One of the attractions of signing Jordan, not just the level of his experience, his availability record is just incredible,” Wilder said, underlining exactly why United moved quickly. “We are delighted physically where he's at and he will definitely be involved.”

“There's a few in an ideal world would be getting rested and maybe not starting, but that's the situation at the moment,” he admitted.
