Pedri Playfully Warns Ferran Torres Ahead of PSG vs Barcelona Champions League Showdown
Pedri Shares a Playful Message with Ferran Torres Before Big PSG Clash
Barcelona midfielder Pedri sent a cheeky message to his close friend and former teammate Ferran Torres as the Catalan club prepares for a crucial Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). The game promises to be a fierce contest between two top European teams known for their skill on the ball.
Cheeky Warning to Torres
This week marks one of the toughest stretches for Barcelona under coach Hansi Flick, with major fixtures ahead including the meeting with reigning European champions PSG. Several familiar faces will reunite on the pitch, such as former Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele and current PSG forward Ferran Torres. Pedri teased Torres before the match, saying:
"I hope he doesn’t have any luck in this match, that he doesn’t score. I wish him luck for the rest of the season. I have a very good relationship with him and we talk a lot when we’re with the national team."
Reflecting on Dembele’s Growth
Pedri also spoke about his experience playing alongside Ousmane Dembele at Barcelona. He recalled the astonishing skill the French winger showed behind closed doors during training. Though Dembele's early career was marked by flashes of brilliance mixed with inconsistency, he has now matured into a dependable world-class player on big occasions.
"In training, I saw him do incredible things; he did well, but he was more inconsistent than now that he’s exploded onto the scene and is a world-class player," said the 23-year-old midfielder.
Facing Europe's Elite
Barcelona understand the challenge posed by PSG, a side that has dominated Europe recently. With Luis Enrique leading the French giants, they have assembled a balanced and talented squad. Pedri emphasized the quality present in every part of the PSG lineup.
"They have many qualities up front, they are game-changers and they know how to control the game in midfield. I’m not going to reinvent the wheel, they have won the last two Champions League," Pedri stated.
Keeping Perspective Ahead of the Match
The Spanish international urged caution in treating this clash like a final. He acknowledged the difficulty but insisted the match should be seen as a checkpoint rather than the end of the road for the season.
"It’s a difficult match against a tough opponent, but it’s not a final. We want to win and maintain our good momentum. This is a match to see where we stand," he explained.
