Fabio Pisacane Responds to Luciano Spalletti After Full-Time Red Card in Cagliari vs Juventus

Red Cards for Both Coaches After Intense Cagliari-Juventus Draw

Fabio Pisacane, head coach of Cagliari, and Juventus boss Luciano Spalletti were both sent off after their teams drew 1-1 at the Unipol Domus. The confrontation escalated when Pisacane kicked the ball into the air before a heated exchange with Spalletti, leading referee Matteo Marcenaro to show red cards to both managers. Pisacane will miss Cagliari's next match against Monza due to the dismissal.

Pisacane Highlights Juventus' Anxiety

Speaking about the tense moment following the match, Pisacane suggested that Spalletti’s nervousness before the game revealed a respect for Cagliari’s strong form this season. He said to DAZN Italia, "It could have ended with an embrace, I am sorry it didn't, but yesterday Spalletti seemed worried. If Juventus are already concerned they might not win at Cagliari by Week 6, then it shows we are heading in the right direction."

He also mentioned that the half-time events were unpleasant, emphasizing that the situation might have been handled differently.

Defensive Strength Amid Low Possession

Despite controlling just 28 percent of possession, Cagliari managed to hold Juventus, thanks largely to a compact defensive setup. Daniel Maldini scored his fourth consecutive Serie A goal for Juventus on his 25th birthday, yet Pisacane defended his team’s resilience.

Pisacane stated, "Sometimes people focus on the number of shots we concede, but that's normal for a team of our level. We allow shots because our players are ready to block everything that comes their way. That's the spirit I want."

Cagliari Maintain Position Above Juventus in Serie A

The draw keeps Cagliari ahead of Juventus in the Serie A table after six rounds, building on four wins from six matches. Pisacane praised his squad’s execution of the game plan while urging continued focus for the rest of the season.

He concluded, "Right now, we need to keep our heads high and stay alert."
