Thomas Tuchel Predicts Harry Kane Will Join Elite 100-Goal Club for England Soon

Tuchel Confident Kane Will Reach 100 Goals for England

Thomas Tuchel believes Harry Kane is on the brink of joining an exclusive group of players who have scored 100 or more international goals. The England captain currently has 87 goals and may hit the century mark in just 13 more matches, according to the England manager.

Kane Closing In On Historic Milestone

Kane's recent goal against the Czech Republic lifted him to eighth place in the all-time international scoring list. Only legends like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Ali Daei have scored 100 or more goals in men's international football. Tuchel expressed strong faith in Kane’s ability to quickly close the gap, saying, "He is closing in. He scored again. 13 goals left." When asked if he truly expects Kane to reach this milestone, Tuchel replied, "Thirteen matches. You will not get another Harry Kane, first of all. He is the highest level of goalscorer."

England Faces Challenge After Kane

Tuchel also warned about the difficulty England may face replacing Kane when his time comes. Despite Kane’s current excellent form—scoring in consecutive games against Spain and the Czech Republic and netting six goals at the World Cup leading England to third place—the coach suggested finding a successor might take years. He said, "There will be someone else but it will not be Harry or a copy of Harry. We will find a solution when it comes to it but maybe not me. It might be another 10 years."

Kane Focused on Present Achievements

Kane, who broke Wayne Rooney’s England goal record three years ago, plans to earn his 124th cap against Croatia soon. Despite talk of the 100-goal landmark, he stays grounded: "I don’t like to think too far ahead, but of course, it’s getting closer. 100 goals for the national team would be something special without a doubt." Reflecting on his career, he added, "It still feels like yesterday I just broke the record and I was away in Italy getting that one. The seasons come and they go quickly, so I just enjoy being out there with the boys on the pitch, wearing the Three Lions shirt and that won’t change."

Building for the Future Post-Czech Republic Win

Kane spoke about the joy of scoring and fulfilling his role as striker: "The striker’s job is to score goals first and foremost, and I know that, and I love doing that. It’s still the best feeling there is." Though pleased to score just before being substituted, he emphasized his involvement in other aspects of the game, such as build-up play and passing.

Regarding England’s performance, Kane acknowledged room for improvement: "The final product has to be perfect and I don’t think it was quite there. I still think we can improve in that sense, with the final cross or the final through ball. But in the end, a win’s a win. I’ve been around long enough in the team where sometimes you just have to win the game and move on and tonight was one of those," he concluded.
