Yves Bissouma Set for Ajax Move

Yves Bissouma is closing in on a fresh start at Ajax, with the former Tottenham midfielder set to sign a short-term deal that could yet turn into something more substantial.

The 30-year-old, released by Spurs in June at the end of his contract, is in Amsterdam to finalise an agreement that runs until the end of the season and includes an option for a further 12 months. If all goes to plan, he will be back on a major European stage in the Eredivisie within days.

For Bissouma, it marks a new chapter after a turbulent finish to his time in north London. Ajax, a club that has long prided itself on technical midfielders and front-foot football, see value in a short, incentivised deal: a proven Premier League performer, still in his prime, with everything to prove. For Bissouma, it is a chance to re-establish his reputation, to swap the uncertainty of free agency for the rhythm of regular football in a league that suits players comfortable on the ball.
