Chema Andres Revels in Stunning First Goal as Brighton Beats Arsenal 3-0

Chema Andres Reflects on Bright Start at Brighton

Brighton's new midfielder Chema Andres has hit the ground running in the Premier League after his summer move from the Bundesliga. The Spanish player scored his first goal for the Seagulls during a commanding 3-0 win over Arsenal, and he admits he can't stop watching the clips his family and friends keep sending him.

Immediate Impact at Amex Stadium

The young Spaniard joined Brighton for around €23 million from VfB Stuttgart on September 1. He made his debut in a strong 5-0 away win against Coventry City before netting a spectacular goal to help secure a 3-0 home victory against Arsenal. These performances have lifted the Seagulls to third place in the Premier League table.

Adapting Quickly to English Football

In an interview with MARCA, Chema discussed how quickly he settled into English football after just three weeks on the south coast. He said, "Well, as you say, very quickly, but with great enthusiasm, very happy, and thank God, so far everything is going well. I've been here for three weeks."

He compared the Premier League and Bundesliga styles: "They are two very competitive leagues, but at the end of the day, the Premier League is the top league in the world. The tempo is dynamic, fluid, with few stoppages; the referees let the game flow, and I believe the physical level is higher. It feels great to score in both, but yes, scoring in the Premier League is genuinely thrilling."

Sharing the Moment with Family and Friends

The excitement over his milestone goal continues as those close to him keep sharing footage of his standout moment against the Gunners. Chema said, "I must have watched it several times by now because my friends and family keep sending it to our group chats. And I just say, well, I'll watch it again. It gives me a real buzz, I'm not going to lie."

Improving Communication in New Team

On adjusting to language differences in the dressing room, he added, "Now I'm doing well, much better now. At the end of the day, everyone speaks English. In Germany most people spoke English as well, but like it or not, German could hold you back a bit. English is better. At the club, everything is in English. The gaffer is German, but well, I already understand German people a bit, so it's all good."

Brighton's Momentum Continues

Brighton have gathered ten points from their first five matches this season, securing a spot near the top of the table. They will face a tough test after the international break when they travel to Sunderland's Stadium of Light on October 10. Earning all three points there is key if they want to maintain their surprising challenge among the league leaders.
