Dean Huijsen Reviews Real Madrid's Defense After Victory Against Sevilla

Real Madrid centre-back Dean Huijsen shared his thoughts on the team's defensive setup and ball movement after their convincing 4-1 triumph over Sevilla. Huijsen praised the squad’s unity, noting how they limited Sevilla to very few clear scoring opportunities.

Huijsen Plays Full Match in Solid Defensive Performance

The young defender completed a full 90 minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu, playing a crucial role in shutting down Sevilla’s attacking threats. Throughout the match, Real Madrid controlled possession and territory, with Huijsen's positioning helping maintain control even after conceding a late goal due to a rare turnover.

This win adds to Real Madrid's unbeaten run at home across all competitions.

Defender Highlights Team’s Ball Control and Structure

After the match, Huijsen emphasized how effective ball distribution formed the backbone of their success. "We didn’t give anything away," he said, describing the defense as solid and disciplined. He added that the team stayed very united throughout the game, which contributed to their strong defensive display despite Sevilla’s efforts.

Amazing Attacking Quality Impresses Huijsen

Huijsen was visibly impressed by the stunning goals from teammates like Guler, Mbappe, and Diomande. Laughing about his own role, he admitted, "I can't score those," but expressed happiness to share the field with such talented attackers. He also noted the significance of playing at home, calling the Bernabeu a historic and special stadium.

Looking Ahead: Champions League Challenge Against Leipzig

Focused on maintaining his strong form, Huijsen is preparing for the upcoming European fixtures. Real Madrid will host RB Leipzig in the Champions League on October 21, hoping to keep their perfect group stage record intact.
