Hull City secure £22m deal for Everton's Tim Iroegbunam
Hull City have launched a bold late move in the market, agreeing a £22m package with Everton for midfielder Tim Iroegbunam in one of the first major strikes of deadline day.
The 23-year-old is set to swap Hill Dickinson Stadium for East Yorkshire in a deal worth an initial £13m, with a further £9m tied up in add-ons. Everton have given him permission to travel for a medical as Hull push to finalise one of the headline signings of their summer rebuild.
Iroegbunam only joined Everton from Aston Villa in 2024 for £9m, but a year on he is on the verge of becoming Hull’s 13th signing of a frantic window. The Championship side are not done yet either, with talks ongoing over a loan move for Chelsea midfielder Dario Essugo as they race the clock before Tuesday night’s 23:00 BST deadline.
For Everton, the deal forms part of a late reshaping of their squad and balance sheet on a day when their players are at the centre of some of the biggest moves in Europe.
Man City close in on £65m Ndiaye deal after Spurs stall
At the top end of the Premier League, Manchester City have moved decisively. They have agreed a deal worth up to £65m to sign Iliman Ndiaye from Everton, a move that underlines Pep Guardiola’s determination to refresh his attacking options.
The agreement for the Senegal winger is structured at £60m plus £5m in add-ons. Ndiaye, 26, had appeared to be heading elsewhere. Tottenham Hotspur struck terms with Everton on Friday night and were preparing to bring him to north London as part of a reshuffle that would have seen Richarlison return to Goodison Park in a separate transfer.
Then the deal hit a wall. Richarlison failed to agree personal terms with his former club, despite Everton tabling a £35m offer for the Brazil forward. Without that piece in place, Spurs could not drive the Ndiaye move over the line.
City stepped into the gap. With the champions now in position, Everton face losing one of their key attacking assets to the Etihad in a deal that could reshape their window in its final hours.
Clock ticking on summer business
The backdrop to all this is a tight and unforgiving timetable.
The summer transfer window for Premier League and English Football League clubs shuts at 23:00 BST on Tuesday. It is the second time this year the window has opened, having restarted on Monday, 15 June, and Fifa regulations cap the total length of windows in a calendar year at 16 weeks.
Last season, English clubs worked to a 19:00 closure to mirror the end of the traditional working day. This year, the deadline has reverted to the more familiar late-night 23:00 finish, restoring the familiar drama of deals creeping over the line in the final minutes.
Across Europe, the picture is staggered. Clubs in Spain, France and Italy also close business on Tuesday, but earlier in the evening, while the Bundesliga shuts its window at 19:00. Scotland operates on a different rhythm again, with clubs north of the border given until 17:00 on Thursday, 3 September to complete their business. The Women’s Super League works to the same Thursday deadline.
Everton’s outgoing traffic continues: Aznou to Malaga
Everton’s day is not just about big-money talks. They have also confirmed a development move for one of their younger prospects.
Left-back Adam Aznou has joined La Liga side Malaga on loan for the 2026-27 season. The 20-year-old arrived at Goodison Park from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2025 but found opportunities limited, making only two senior appearances last term – one in the FA Cup and one in the Carabao Cup.
The switch marks a return to familiar ground. Aznou is a product of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, where he spent three years as a teenager before heading to Munich in 2023. Now he goes back to Spain in search of regular football and a platform to relaunch his trajectory.
Hutchinson swaps Forest for AC Milan loan
On the continent, one of the most storied names in European football has dipped into the Premier League for attacking reinforcements.
AC Milan have taken Omari Hutchinson on loan from Nottingham Forest until the end of the season, with an option to make the move permanent next summer. The seven-time European champions are giving the forward a fresh stage after a stop-start spell at the City Ground.
Hutchinson joined Forest from Ipswich Town in a £37.5m deal 12 months ago but never truly settled, making only 17 Premier League starts under four different managers. The churn on the touchline did little to help his rhythm. Now, with the San Siro lights waiting, he has a chance to reset his career in Serie A.
Man City land Allan as Savio replacement
Manchester City’s business is not limited to Ndiaye. The champions have also tied up a deal for Palmeiras winger Allan Elias, continuing their long-term investment in Brazilian talent.
City have paid an initial £32m, with £2.2m in add-ons, for the 22-year-old, who has signed a five-year contract. Allan arrives as a direct replacement for compatriot Savio, who completed a £75m switch to Tottenham Hotspur last week.
A right-sided winger, Allan came through Palmeiras’ youth system and went on to make 96 senior appearances in all competitions, scoring nine goals and providing 12 assists. Those numbers only tell part of the story; City see a player with the athleticism and technical edge to grow inside one of the most demanding systems in Europe.
Forest reunite Munoz with Glasner
Nottingham Forest, never shy of a busy window, have added again. They have completed the £22m signing of Daniel Munoz from Crystal Palace, reuniting the Colombia right-back with Oliver Glasner.
The pair enjoyed success together at Selhurst Park, lifting both the FA Cup and the Conference League with Palace. Now they link up at the City Ground, where Munoz has signed a three-year deal.
The defender spent the last two and a half years in south London, scoring 11 goals in 109 appearances – an impressive return for a full-back. He follows the club-record £50m arrival of Liam Delap and could be thrown straight in, with a debut against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday firmly in view.
