Stipe Miocic Shares His Prediction for Ciryl Gane vs Josh Hokit at UFC 334
Stipe Miocic's Take on the UFC 334 Heavyweight Title Fight
The heavyweight championship will be contested at UFC 334 next month, with Ciryl Gane defending his title against Josh Hokit. Gane recently became the undisputed champion after Tom Aspinall vacated the belt due to eye injuries. This will be Gane’s first title defense.
Hokit has made a rapid rise in the division, earning wins over Denzel Freeman, Curtis Blaydes, and Derrick Lewis in 2026 alone. Despite being a newcomer—debuting in November 2025—he’s viewed as a serious threat to Gane.
Bookmakers see Gane as the favorite, but many think Hokit’s unpredictable style and wrestling skills might allow him to pull off an upset and claim the undisputed championship.
Miocic Offers His Insight
Stipe Miocic, a former two-time heavyweight champion known for holding the most title defenses in UFC heavyweight history, has shared his thoughts exclusively with GIVEMESPORT through Casino.org. Miocic retired in November 2024 after losing his bid to regain the title from Jon Jones. He remains one of the greatest heavyweights ever.
“They’re both vulnerable, but I'd have to go with Gane just because of his experience. He's fought some tough guys in the past. However, I think if Hokit keeps his distance and has a good angle on Gane, it will help him.
“I know Hokit’s a wrestler, but wrestling isn't always the best approach. When you're wrestling, you're still getting punched, kicked, and kneed, so you're vulnerable to getting hurt. If Hokit just keeps his distance, he can pick Gane apart. But Hokit hasn't really gone the distance in the past either. Five rounds, that's a big difference. I don't care how great shape you're in, you're definitely going to feel it when you're not used to it. I think that could hurt him too.
“I think Hokit can exploit some of Gane’s weaknesses. I haven’t watched him fight a lot, but from what I’ve seen, he just needs to put pressure on him, close the distance, and work some good angles, and that could be effective.
“If Hokit can get him up against the cage, tire him out and utilise his clinch and body work, I think that could take a toll on Gane.”
