Tyson Fury Plans to Invite Donald Trump for Anthony Joshua Fight

Tyson Fury Eyes Donald Trump's Presence for Joshua Bout

Tyson Fury is known for making his fights grand events, often using dramatic entrances filled with pyrotechnics and music to hype up the crowd and viewers. Now, as he prepares to face fellow Brit and former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on December 11, Fury aims to take the spectacle to another level.

Fury has revealed his intention to invite Donald Trump, the current President of the United States, to accompany him during his ring walk for this historic fight. This move could spark some controversy, but Fury seems unfazed by potential backlash.

The Long-Awaited Fury vs Joshua Clash

After years of delays caused by fighters’ and promoters’ stubbornness, along with untimely losses, the superfight between Fury and Joshua finally looks set to take place in the UK. Fury has always been open about wanting the biggest payday possible, even if that meant risking the fight not happening.

Initially, there were rumors of the bout being held at Madison Square Garden in New York, a venue Fury welcomed due to the large payout it promised. Yet Joshua and promoter Eddie Hearn insisted the fight remain in Britain. Joshua even took a significant pay cut to make sure it happened on home soil. Eventually, the Principality Stadium, which can host nearly 74,000 fans, was selected.

Fury’s Theatrical Ring Walks

Wherever the fight takes place, Fury’s entrance is always a spectacle. In his 2020 rematch with Deontay Wilder, where he claimed the WBC title, Fury appeared wearing a robe and crown while seated on a throne at the MGM Grand. Their 2021 trilogy fight saw him dressed as a Spartan warrior, walking out to AC/DC’s "You Shook Me All Night Long."

When defending his WBC belt against Dillian Whyte in 2022 at Wembley, Fury mixed songs like "American Pie," "Jerusalem," and "Your Sex Is On Fire" with an outfit inspired by the English flag. His fights with Oleksandr Usyk also featured memorable music choices: "Holding Out For A Hero" in May 2024 and "All I Want For Christmas Is You" in their December rematch.

Trump’s Possible Role in December’s Mega Fight

For the showdown against Joshua, Fury is preparing to bring back his extravagant style but with an added twist by offering Trump the chance to join him during his ring walk. Fury said,

"I'll definitely make that offer to my old buddy, and we'll see if he's available. It's probably unlikely because of the situation he's in at the moment, being the President of the United States."

This comment refers to Trump’s busy schedule, including upcoming mid-term elections and ongoing international conflicts, which likely reduce the chances of his attendance. Since the fight is no longer in the US, Fury’s expectation that Trump might not appear seems realistic.
