Tyson Fury's Manager on Dana White vs. Eddie Hearn: Who's Winning the Battle?
Tyson Fury's Manager Comments on Dana White and Eddie Hearn Rivalry
The ongoing clash between Eddie Hearn and Dana White has grabbed attention, even as the December 11 showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua draws near. Although neither promoter will step into the ring in Cardiff, their conflict has become a big part of the fight's atmosphere and boxing's larger landscape since White's Zuffa Boxing entered the scene earlier this year.
Spencer Brown's Take on the Promotional Feud
Spencer Brown, who manages Tyson Fury, shared his perspective on The Ariel Helwani Show. He said, "I think Eddie's winning the war of words, but they’re two completely different characters. [White's] a hardened bulldog who's a great businessman who’s taken stuff from nowhere. I remember the first UFC... To bring it from where it was—he’s basically made the sport. All credit to him."
Brown added that Eddie Hearn inherited boxing from his father and has taken it to new heights with remarkable success.
Hope for Collaboration Ahead of Fury vs. Joshua
Despite the enjoyment many feel watching these giants of combat sports promotion clash, Brown expressed a desire for cooperation between the two. Previously, Hearn and White had a friendly relationship, even attending each other's events. That changed once TKO stepped into boxing.
Brown said, "You've got two men there—I can’t see why they can’t be amicable. Does it have to be bitter and nasty all the time? I don’t think so. I’ve seen Eddie at a UFC fight in Vegas recently, and they were getting along well. With Zuffa's move into boxing, both sides will be territorial, especially Eddie."
Potential Matchup Between White and Hearn
In March, White challenged Hearn to a boxing match on The Piers Morgan Show, which Hearn quickly accepted. The event was backed by KSI’s Misfits Boxing offering a $20 million prize, though White later dismissed the idea.
Brown joked about the fight, saying, "If Dana catches him on the jaw, he goes down. But if Eddie keeps him at long range and uses his jab, I think he beats him."
Saudi Arabia's Role in Boxing and Future Prospects
Brown's company, Goldstar, has played a key role in Saudi Arabia's investment in boxing. He downplays rumors of the kingdom pulling back but acknowledges the upcoming Fury-Joshua fight might be among the last large-scale events funded by them.
He stated, "I don’t think their involvement is ending yet. Everything needs to settle. The money has to come down because no one can keep paying at that level. This fight could be one of the last big ones we see from Saudi Arabia. Maybe one or two major fights a year will follow, but I don’t think they’re leaving the sport."
Brown also noted that much depends on Turki Alalshikh, a major figure behind the kingdom’s boxing investments, who recently shared his health struggles with cancer and a brain tumor.
With Zuffa Boxing emerging and Saudi events slowing around the same time, insiders speculate the massive spending might decrease, shifting toward more sustainable investment in boxing.
