Rwanda’s rapid reset

She had company. Liliane Ufitinema’s 19 from 27 deliveries gave Rwanda early stability, while Deborah Uwase’s 11 off 14 kept the board ticking. Together they built a platform, Utagushimaninde supplied the fireworks, and Rwanda surged to a commanding total that Namibia never seriously threatened.
The reward was emphatic: an 81‑run victory and a Player of the Match award for Utagushimaninde. More importantly, Rwanda found momentum at exactly the right time.
Kenya’s contrasting journey
Kenya’s route to this decider has followed a similar pattern, only in reverse order.
They opened with authority, brushing aside Namibia by 54 runs. The win underlined their own credentials as semi-final contenders and briefly put them level with Zimbabwe at the top of the group.
Then Zimbabwe arrived and ripped up the script. A 79‑run defeat exposed Kenya to the same harsh reality Rwanda had already faced: in this group, any lapse gets punished.
So both teams reach Wednesday with one resounding win, one heavy loss, and everything still to prove.
One slot, no safety net
The stakes could not be clearer. Rwanda and Kenya meet at 9:30 AM at Estim, TCA Cricket Arena, with the winner joining Zimbabwe in the knockout phase and moving a step closer to the 2027 ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup.
